The Jailed Pakistani Cricketers_Salman, Asif, Amir

The jailed cricketers (Salman, Asif and Amir) remind me of the bitter reality that the snooze around the necks of the Muslims around the world is by and by being tightened so invisibly that someone, if ever, highlights the fact shall be ridiculed of being myopic. But the reality is, the Iraqis themselves did NOT kill their iron man Saddam; rather he was executed with the strong backing of the US. Similarly, Qaddhafi wasn’t punished by his own people until they were backed by the NATO. The same is gonna happen in Syria and Yemen soon.

The questions are: if the Muslims are the cheaters then:

- Why aren’t they being fined/punished/sentenced by their own system?

- Are all other nations really clean or wearing the masks.

- Who is gonna come forward to advocate the poor Afghanis and the drone-killed innocent tribesmen in Pakistan?

- Who is gonna have the trial of those who killed so many Libyans, Iraqis, Egyptians and Syrians?

- Can’t we learn the lesson from Turkey?

- Should NOT the PCB have herself come forward and go into the ‘trio’ (Salman, Asif and Amir)corruption case?

Well, whatever we say now, the fact is: Pakistan has been badly defamed by the powers which wanted her to be this way.

To me, it was not the trio of corruption comprising Salman Butt, Muhammad Asif and Muhammad Amir. It was indeed the corrupt trio comprising Asif Ali Zardari, Ijaz Butt and Salman Butt.

Corruption has become the scar of the face of Pakistan. But in Pakistan, it is a cult. More you are corrupt, more you are respected.

If something relaed to corruption is going on under my nose, and I myself am already a corrupt person, why should I mind? The same happened with Zardar-Ijaz Butt duo which instrumentalized poor Salman Butt who further involved young Amir and talented Asif.

Well, now, when Salman, Asif and Amir have been jailed, Zardari must go. And a credible, clean and honest ruler must take the reigns of Pakistan; of course not the way Pir Pagara or Imran or Edhi suggesting or striving for.

It must be all democratic…

Pakistan’s glorious cricketing scenario has been brilliantly discussed by Ahmad Fuad in here..

hello sir hope yur doin well. Firstly i wud like to congratulate yu on launching and setting up your website. Your fans, students and friends were eagerly awaiting this, and as usual you managed to deliver :) . We felt that given the multitude of services that you continue to render towards the society , it was imperative that you had an online resource dedicated to yourself. We appreciate your efforts and achievements. You have our warm support and do be kind enough to let us know whenever we can be of any assistance :) .

A brief comment on your article if i may :
It’s a good point you make about the trio of corruption being composed of chief patron zardari-chairman butt-captain butt rather than just the jailed cricketers. I would however go onto say that more than individuals this reflects corruption that has eroded the very foundations of our state. We somehow expect our politicians to be corrupt, our bureacracy to be corrupt, and our police to be corrupt. We even expect corruption in our judiciary. So why should cricket be any different then ?
Cricket too does not have a lesser status than any institution here and has more popularity than many.
Cricket in pakistan is more than just a sport , it is one of the few things which bring a heterogeneous, linguistically and ethnically diverse people together. One of the few things which transform the nationalist attitudes into the groove of a nation.
Cricket in pakistan is played in places where the green flag doesn’t fly , kids who have not heard of zardari have heard of afridi.
So it is but natural that we would atleast expect our cricket to be different. Cricket should be different !.
The most amount of pity that i have heard in this case has been about “young amir”. Poor , uneducated boy , thrown into international cricket at such a young age, what did he know ? He got hoodwinked, he got misled. Nonsense !
You don’t have to be educated, you don’t have to be rich to know what patriotism is about, and if at 18 you are old enough to vote then you r old enough to love your country !
I’m sure when he was a kid he would have seen the independence day celebrations, studied pak.studies at da primary levels , heard patriotic chants in the streets , and if nothing else he would have atleast heard the national anthem.
Amir is the youth is he not ? The youth people say is the future of pakistan ? If amir was untainted then he would have had the moral courage , if given the opportunity, to go and collar asif zardari by the scruff of the neck and say ” i’m the youth of pakistan , i will not let you do corruption in this country”. Now amir cannot even do that in his dreams.
I have only talked of amir so that you can imagine if i am this critical of him how critical would i be of others. If he is this guilty how guilty would the others be.
And so now what for da future. Well you set a precedence that what’s done is done. Now any sporting board/team representing pakistan should have in their code of conduct that any player or official found guilty of “fixing” anything would stand trial for treason against pakistan. That’s it.

  2. [...] objectivity and the clarity of heart. If that happens, and happens at all, wait for some more Amirs, Asifs and Salman Butts; but this time from the champions… Articles, News [...]
